As we kickoff a new ministry year, I wanted to share some recent changes for our staff team. Lynette Weber is starting a 6 month leave of absence to give more attention to her family. We hope this time will be refreshing and a blessing to her and Rick. We look forward to her return in March in Children’s Ministry. Mikhaila Rowaan, who just completed an excellent job as our Summer Ministry Intern, is continuing on staff part-time as Children’s Ministry Assistant. Alexis Ruppert is transitioning to…

Teachers & Helpers Needed for Summer Sundays

We still need more teachers/helpers to keep our Sunday morning pre-school program and Kids Konnect parties (Gr1-5) on track this summer. Each week throughout the summer we have classes for pre-schoolers (Ages 2, 3, JK, SK) and require teachers and assistants for each. On 2 Sundays (July 23 & August 20) we also have a Kids Konnect Party for Grades 1 – 5 and need extra help those weeks. No previous teaching experience is required. Perhaps God is prompting YOU…

Friendship Club Wins Award

Last week we learned that our Friendship Club program will be a recipient of the Kitchener-Conestoga 150 for Canada’s 150th Award! This award was launched by our local MP Harold Albrecht and local MPP Michael Harris to recognize outstanding contributions to our community. For many years, Woodside has hosted this program for developmentally challenged adults in our community every Monday evening. Our long-time director Geraldine Hotchkiss will be accepting the award at a ceremony on August 1. We want to thank…

Donna’s Place Spring Renovations

One of our 2016 year-end projects was making improvements to Donna’s Place – our temporary housing for missionaries on furlough. With your support, we raised over $25,000 for this renovation project. During the last few months, many volunteers have been busily working on the upper apartment at Donna’s Place and we’re pleased to say the work has been completed. In fact, the new residents, Phil and Andrea Bauman, have just arrived from Africa and are enjoying the newly updated apartment.…

Mbabala Island Memory – Dustin

(We’ve asked the team that served in Zambia in January to share some photos and memories from their trip) This is Peter, Mark’s right hand man for all things construction. We’d have been lost without him: project manager, translator, motivator. He learned much of his trade from another missionary who was faithful to mentor him in his younger days. Most places I’ve travelled, ex-patriates have at least one trustworthy, hard-working local. For Mark, this is Peter. ~ Dustin
