Trip Overview

There has long been a connection between the people at Woodside and the community of Chapleau Ontario through the ministry of Wildwood Bible Camp, which serves to share the good news of God’s love with children in Northern Ontario, specifically those near Chapleau and Wawa (http://wwbc.ca). Though the camp is an amazing ministry that has changed the lives of so many young people, it has not escaped our notice that there is a lack of support year-round for children and youth in the Chapleau area.
Last year, March 2024, Woodside sent a team of youth to serve in Chapleau and Wawa with the goal of playing a small part in the long-term spiritual growth of the youth in Chapleau and the community as a whole and strengthening the partnership between our church community and theirs. God was faithful to provide these opportunities to be a part of the work He is doing in Chapleau, and it is our hope to continue to build this partnership. As such, we are looking to send a new team in 2025 to build on what was started last year and to see what new things God may have in store. Our main focus as a team will be preparing and leading a kids camp program over the March break, however we are also eager to serve in other ways such as being a part of a local church service, leading youth events, and intentionally meeting and praying with people, depending on the needs in the community. We are going with open hands, knowing that our expectations may not align with what is actually needed of our team. We are looking for youth who are eager to show God’s love, who want to learn how God has gifted them and how He can work through them, and who are willing to be flexible and open-handed as we discover together how God wants to use our team this year!
To make this trip happen, each team member will be required to contribute to the cost of this trip. There will be an individual fee of $200 to participate in this trip and we will decide how to fundraise as a team to cover any additional costs.

Additionally, in order to be a part of this team it is important that you are able to attend team meetings where we will learn more about missions, prepare our program, and grow as a team. We will meet every other Tuesday evening from 7-9:30 (This may mean missing some youth bible study nights to make this happen). The following are the meeting dates:
Nov 12 , Nov 26 , Dec 10 , Jan 7 , Jan 21 , Feb 4 , Feb 18 , Mar 4
The dates for the trip are March 7-16, 2025
We are looking for team members who can commit to all these meeting times, however we know life happens, so team members will be required to attend at least 6 of the 8 meetings.
