Serve On A Team and Make A Difference

Woodside Serving Teams

Kid’s Ministry

Our Kid’s Ministry team serves kids from birth to Grade 5, creating spaces where they can discover Jesus, learn to trust Him, and ultimately follow Him with their lives. We offer nursery, preschool, and elementary programs on Sundays, as well as midweek ministries. There are lots of ways to serve—whether as a crew leader, Sunday School teacher, games leader, snack provider, librarian, or more. If you love kids and want to see them grow in their faith, there’s a place for you here. Training is provided.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth Ministry team walks alongside students from Grades 6–8 (Jr. Youth) and 9–12 (Sr. Youth), helping them find their identity, purpose, and belonging in Christ. Through small groups, Bible teaching, mentoring, and events, we create spaces where students can encounter Jesus and grow in their faith. Serving could mean leading or co-leading a small group, providing snacks, offering event supervision, or simply investing in the lives of students who need encouragement and guidance.

Adult Ministries

Our vision is simple: to make disciples who make disciples. We long to see people adopted into God’s family, being transformed by the Holy Spirit, and serving Christ. At Woodside, Adult Ministries include Young Adults, Men, Women, Marriage, and Evergreen (seniors). These ministries create space for people to grow in faith and community at every stage of life. Serving opportunities range from practical help, like assisting in the kitchen, to relational roles, like mentoring or leading a group. However, God has gifted you, there’s a way to invest in others and be part of His transforming work.

Friendship Club

Do you have a heart for adults with special needs? Our Friendship Club meets weekly to share the love of Jesus and help disciple adults with disabilities. There are a variety of ways to get involved, from building relationships to helping with activities. If this ministry stirs your heart, we’d love to have you join us.

Music & Production Teams

Worship Team

Do you love to praise God through music and help others do the same? Our Worship Team is made up of people of all ages and stages, united by a desire to glorify God through song. If you have a musical gift and a heart for worship, this is a great place to serve.

Tech Team

Behind the scenes, our Tech Team helps keep the focus on Christ by supporting Sunday services, funerals, conferences, and other events. Whether it’s mixing audio, running cameras, projecting lyrics, or livestreaming, this team uses technology as a tool for ministry. Training is provided, so even if you’re newer to tech, you can jump in and serve.

Welcome Team

The Welcome Team exists to make Woodside a warm and inviting place where everyone can worship Jesus together. Whether greeting at the door, hosting at the welcome desk, ushering, or serving coffee, this team helps every person feel seen, known, and loved.

Care Support Teams

Peer Support Team

Walking with someone through life’s valleys is sacred work. Our Peer Support Team provides one-to-one, Christ-centred encouragement for those navigating seasons of grief, divorce, caregiving, retirement, or other challenges. Through listening, prayer, and biblical wisdom, this team helps rekindle hope and strengthen faith.

Senior Visitation

Our Senior Visitation Team brings the love and fellowship of Christ to those who can no longer participate fully in church life. Through visits, prayer, and conversation, both volunteers and seniors are reminded that they are seen, valued, and cherished.

Helping Hands

Sometimes love looks like a hot meal, a safe ride, or a little help with household tasks. Our Helping Hands ministry turns compassion into action through three simple avenues:

  • Meals – Bringing comfort during illness, loss, or transition.
  • Transportation – Providing rides to appointments or church activities.
  • Odd Jobs – Helping with practical tasks that lighten life’s load.

Funerals

In life’s tender moments of loss, our Funeral Care Team comes alongside grieving families with practical support, such as food preparation for receptions. In serving, we prayerfully extend the comfort and hope of Christ.

Facilities Team

Our Facilities Team is made up of dedicated volunteers who help care for our church building and property, creating a safe, welcoming space where ministry can thrive. This includes caring for the grounds through regular weeding and upkeep, preparing spaces for weekly ministries, supporting larger events like funerals, and making sure the building stays secure.

Facilities Care & Cleaning Team

A welcoming church begins with a well-cared-for facility. The Facilities Care & Cleaning Team helps create clean, organized, and inviting spaces where people can worship, grow, and connect. Volunteers assist with light cleaning, room setups, and general facility care, supporting the many ministries that take place throughout the week. If you enjoy serving behind the scenes, this is a meaningful way to help people feel at home at Woodside.

Maintenance & Repairs Team

The Maintenance & Repairs Team helps care for our church building through minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility improvement projects. Whether you have specialized skills or simply enjoy working with your hands, your gifts can help keep our church safe, functional, and ready for ministry. Every project, big or small, helps create a space where people can encounter Jesus.

Snow Removal Team

During the winter months, the Snow Removal Team helps keep our church safe and accessible by clearing snow and ice from walkways and entrances. This practical act of service helps remove barriers so people can gather for worship, fellowship, and ministry. No special experience is required—just a willingness to serve and help make Woodside a welcoming place for everyone.

Grounds & Garden Team

The Grounds & Garden Team helps care for the outdoor spaces around our church, creating a welcoming and well-kept environment for everyone who comes to Woodside. Volunteers help with gardening, weeding, raking leaves, trimming bushes and plants, and other seasonal grounds care. If you enjoy working outdoors and want to use your time to serve others, this is a practical way to help make Woodside a welcoming place for everyone.
